I was asked to be in this year’s Orange Coast College Faculty Dance Concert by one of the choreographers after she had watched me in class one night. I was extremely flattered, and of course I said that I would love to do it.
This has been one of the most challenging things I’ve done in my dance career, I am very proud of myself for doing this. Normally, I am not one to venture outside of my comfort zone, but the past couple weeks of rehearsal have given me a new found confidence in my talents.
And after weeks of sweat and bloody toes (and more weeks ahead), I am very excited to invited all of my family and friends to come see me and fellow dancers preform for you!
My dance teacher told me about a master class that he was going to be teaching, a Jazz workshop where he would be teaching us the choreography to Bob Fosse's "Steam Heat" from The Pajama Game. It was a really far drive, but it was a lot of fun.
I saw the guy recording us, but I didn't know that this was going to show up on the Internet. I'm in this video more than I'd like to be, and I look so confused.
As soon as this day is finally over, my three day weekend will have officially commenced. This is wonderful country that we live in! Hurray for Democracy and the fact that we have an elected leader running this country. Thank you for being our President! You work too hard. Why don’t you take a day off… I know I will!!
Last night, Diego was driving Miss Crazy (me) around (to school) in our smart car when we passed a man riding his bicycle. Weirdo. And after my initial reaction of, “Hey, he looks like he’s out of Tron!” to his reflective strips running down the side of his body, I realized that bicycles are very strange contraptions. I can only wonder what the first people to be introduced to them must have thought. “Um, you just peddle and it stays standing upright? OK.” Or, better yet, how did someone even come up with that design in the first place? “We need to come up with a new way of getting around, but all of these wheels are just in the way!” “No, wait! I think this can really work. Try it.”
But then, of course, someone had to out do him and present the idea of a unicycle.
